Children's Eternal Rainforest

About this tour
The Children's Eternal Rainforest, Costa Rica's largest private reserve, spans mountains and valleys between Arenal and Monteverde, encompassing 55,000 acres of lush primary and secondary rainforest. This vast expanse is home to Costa Rica's remaining jaguars, along with 120 mammal species, 440 bird species, and over 700 butterfly species. Established in 1987, the reserve is a collaborative effort by the Monteverde Conservation League and donors from 44 countries who contributed to acquiring the land.
The reserve offers three access points to explore the cloud and rainforest. During our visit, we’ll stop at the Pocosol Station near Arenal and the town of La Tigra. Its trails lead to various hidden wonders within the dense, wet premontane rainforest, including fumaroles, waterfalls, and lagoons. As the sun sets, visitors can relax on the station’s patio and observe an incredible array of birds, such as hummingbirds, tanagers, toucans, and oropendulas, fluttering around the area.
